{"id":2,"date":"2008-02-11T21:56:50","date_gmt":"2008-02-11T19:56:50","guid":{"rendered":"\/en\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2022-10-14T07:53:27","modified_gmt":"2022-10-14T05:53:27","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/raptors.org.ua\/en\/about","title":{"rendered":"About the Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Objectives of the Ukrainian Birds of Prey Research Centre:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>improve work coordination of ornithologists investigating of birds of prey in Ukraine;<\/li>\n<li>organize exchange of information  among ornithologists of Ukraine and other countries about the progress in study and conservation of birds of prey;<\/li>\n<li>organiz\u0435 workshops and conferences;<\/li>\n<li>develop and execute monitoring programmes of condition of birds of prey populations, publish scientific results of researches;<\/li>\n<li>improve awareness of local people, local and central authorities, hunters, workers of forestry and agriculture about problems of birds of prey conservation by communicating through specially developed web-site, publishing brochures, posters, providing information for mass media coverage;<\/li>\n<li>improve living conditions of birds of prey through biotechnical activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Priorities will be given first of all to globally threatened species: monitoring of their populations, conservation measures through biotechnical activities, propaganda of the conservation of birds of prey and owls among local people, hunters and workers of forestry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our projects:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00abConservation of the Saker Falcon in the Ukrainian Steppes: Survey, Risk Assessment and Implementing Conservation Measures\u00bb (2012). Supported by the Rufford Small Grants;<\/li>\n<li>\u00abConservation of the Population of the Spotted Eagle (Aquila clanga) of the Forest Zone of Ukraine\u00bb (2013-2014). Supported by the Rufford Small Grants;<\/li>\n<li>\u00abResearch, Monitoring and Conservation of the Population of the Spotted Eagle in Ukraine\u00bb (2015-2016). Supported by the Rufford Small Grants;<\/li>\n<li>\u00abContinuation of Saker Falcon and Steppe Biodiversity Conservation in Ukraine\u00bb (2016-2017).
