New book on Ukrainian vultures published

Грифовые птицы фауны УкраиныRecently a book “Vultures of the Ukrainian fauna” by Tsvelykh A.N., Appak B.A., Beskaravainy M.M., Kostin S.Yu., Osipova M.A. was published. Edition devotes to especial group of the birds of prey, four species of which, namely the Black Vulture (Aegypius monachus), the Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus), the Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus) and the Bearded Vulture (Gypaetus barbatus) represent in the avifauna of Ukraine. Results of analyses of all accessible literature sources both old and modern ones were widely drew in, as well. So, the book includes actual information on the former and present distribution of vultures in the territory of Ukraine, the data concerning their biology, composition of populations and changes in the number. Evaluation of the real size of the present Crimean populations is given, as well. Language of book is Russian, but it has English translation of summary, content and captions of the tables, figures and illustrations.
